Burnaby & Metro Vancouver
Kitchen renovation in Burnaby
From a cabinet-and-counter refresh to a full layout change with walls moved, one general contractor runs the whole kitchen job.
A kitchen is the renovation with the most trades in the smallest space: demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, cabinets, counters, tile, paint and appliances, usually in that order and often overlapping. The difference between a kitchen that finishes on schedule and one that drags on for months is almost always coordination. That is the job we take off your hands.
Refresh, full renovation or a new layout
Most Burnaby kitchen projects fall into one of three scopes:
- Refresh. The layout stays. New cabinet doors or new cabinets, countertops, backsplash, lighting and paint.
- Full renovation. Everything back to the studs, new cabinets and counters, updated plumbing and electrical, new flooring, with the sink and range roughly where they were.
- New layout. Walls opened or moved, an island added, the sink or range relocated. This usually involves structural work and permits.
We help you decide which scope fits the budget before anything is ordered. Our kitchen renovation cost guide shows typical Metro Vancouver ranges for each.
Condos and townhouses
Kitchen work in a strata building comes with extra steps: strata approval, elevator bookings, restricted working hours and, in concrete buildings, limits on where plumbing and ducting can go. We plan the job around your building's bylaws so the work is not stopped halfway.
Permits and inspections
Replacing cabinets, counters and flooring does not usually need a permit in Burnaby. Moving plumbing, changing electrical circuits, adding gas lines or removing a wall does. We tell you which permits apply before we quote, and we arrange them. The Burnaby permit guide has the details.
Written, itemized quote
Your quote lists demolition, rough-in, cabinets, counters, tile, finishing and permits as separate lines, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and compare it fairly with anyone else's. Bring us a written quote from another licensed contractor and we will beat it by 5% on the same scope.

FAQ
Questions we get asked
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
It depends on the scope. Published Metro Vancouver guides put a refresh at roughly 6 to 10 weeks and a mid-range full renovation at 3 to 5 months, including design and ordering. Custom cabinets and permit reviews are what stretch a schedule. We give you a timeline with your quote.
Can I keep using my kitchen during the work?
Not usually once demolition starts. Most families set up a temporary kitchen with a microwave, kettle and fridge in another room. We plan the order of work to keep that period as short as possible.
Do you supply the cabinets and countertops?
We can supply and install them, or install cabinets and counters you have chosen yourself. Either way they are listed separately on the quote.
Do you renovate condo kitchens?
Yes. We work within your strata's rules for approvals, working hours and elevator bookings.
